About The Record:

American Family Album of Christmas Songs, released by Columbia Special Products, is a compilation featuring a variety of traditional and popular Christmas songs performed by artists associated with Columbia Records. While specific details about the album’s release date and tracklist are limited, it is part of Columbia’s extensive catalog of holiday-themed albums, which often included contributions from prominent artists like Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, and Doris Day. The album holds historical significance as a product of Columbia’s efforts to curate festive music that resonated with American audiences during the mid-20th century, reflecting the era’s cultural emphasis on family-oriented holiday traditions. No specific hit singles are directly tied to this compilation in available records, but Columbia’s Christmas albums frequently featured iconic tracks like White Christmas or Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, which were popularized by artists on their roster. The album’s release under Columbia Special Products suggests it was likely a budget or promotional issue, aimed at broad distribution to capture the holiday market.
