This is an original World War II Victory Medal issued by the United States military to honor service members who served during WWII (December 7, 1941 – December 31, 1946).
Obverse (front): Features the figure of Liberty holding a broken sword, standing over a double-headed dragon symbolizing the defeated Axis powers, with rays of a new dawn in the background.
Reverse (back): Inscribed “United States of America – 1941–1945” with the Four Freedoms: Freedom from Fear and Want, Freedom of Speech and Religion.
Ribbon: Multi-color design with red center stripe, flanked by rainbow hues symbolizing unity of the Allies.
Condition: Good vintage condition, with expected age-related wear/patina. Includes original ribbon and backing mount (see photos for details).
